The Association participated to the meeting at the SPO General Directorate of EU Affairs

The Association met Cevdet Yılmaz, General Director of State Planning Organization EU Affairs, on October 16th, 2006. During the meeting, the Association gave information regarding its activities about the harmonization process with the EU, the basic indicators of the sector and its potential. A presentation was also made about the preparations for the negotiation process and the samples of various projects in order to benefit from the financial aids of the EU.

At the meeting views were exchanged about the MIPD (Multi-Annual Indicative Planning Document) report, which constructs the framework of pre-accession aids of the EU to be allocated to Turkey between 2007-2009, and the basic priorities (institutional constructing, cross-border cooperation, regional development, improving human resources and rural development) in the report.
 

The Association met the officials of the Delegation of the European Commission to Turkey

The Association met Ulrike Hauer, First Secretary and the Head of Section B - Trade, Economy, Agriculture of Delegation of the European Commission to Turkey, and Güray Vural, Director of Macro-Economics, Financial Sector, Services and Privatization Sector.

During the meeting, detailed information was presented to the officials of the Delegation, regarding the structure of the Association, the situation of the Turkish insurance sector and the activities and the projects of the Association, realized within the framework of the harmonization process with the EU.

In the meeting views were also exchanged in order to provide EU financial sources for the sector.
 

The Association participated to the “Turkey Housing Finance Summit”

The Association participated to the “Turkey Housing Finance Summit”, with 2 representatives, which was held on 19-20 October, in Istanbul.

At the summit, which was inaugurated by the speech of Kemal Unakıtan, Minister of Finance, presentations were made by the specialists regarding the Draft Mortgage Law, which is expected to enter into force next term. Within this framework, Assoc. Prof. Suna Oksay, Deputy Secretary General of the Association made a presentation titled; “Mortgage Insurance Products and Improvements in the Turkish Insurance Sector Regarding These Products”.
