The Association’s Project on the Use of IFRS in the Insurance Sector Has Begun
The working group which is established by the Association to provide views and suggestions on Financial Reporting Standards on Insurance has begun to its work.

The working group, which is composed of the representatives of the Association, its member companies, General Directorate of Insurance and Insurance Supervisory Board and a leading accounting and consulting firm, will convene periodically and complete its tasks on all the standards until the end of November 2005.

The first meeting of the working group was held on August 2005 and in the meeting the working group determined the order of the standards to be applied. Discussions on IAS 16(property, Plant and Equipment), IAS 17(Leases), and IAS 38 (Intangible Assets) were completed in August as enshrined in the work scheme of the working group.



The Association’s Library was Renewed and Inaugurated
The Associations Library was renewed and enriched with collections of books. The library consists of more than 3000 publications in the subject of insurance, law, finance, economy and accounting.

The library which was inaugurated to serve insurance industry professionals, researchers, students and all insurance circles, provides a rich archive of books, annual reports and periodicals in Turkish as well as in English.

The Association’s Library will be open from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm during the week.



The Book of “First National Insurance Symposium” published by the Association
The book of First National Insurance Symposium which consists of full text of the presentations and speeches made during the symposium has been published by the Association.

The book, delivered to all of the members of the Association. The readers may find the following chapters in the book: “the EU and Turkish Insurance Sector”, “Tax Practices in the EU and Turkish Insurance Sector”, “Insurance Regulations in the EU and Turkey”, “Risk and Auditing in the EU Harmonization Process”, “Financial Statements and Financial Reporting Standards in the EU Harmonization Process”, “Insurance Business and Actuarial Analysis”.



The Associations Annual Report Published
The Association published the 2004 Annual Report. The Annual Report which includes the developments of the Turkish Insurance Industry has been published in Turkish and English.
