The Association participated to the Turkish Grand National Assembly Justice Commission Meeting

On 6 March 2008, the Turkish Grand National Assembly Justice Commission held a meeting on “Draft Law on Enforcement and Implementation of Turkish Commercial Code”. The Association was represented at the meeting by Legal Counsel Tolga Ceylantepe.

During the meeting, the commission work on the draft law was completed. The draft law is expected to be on the agenda of the General Assembly.

The Association held a meeting on “Taxation in the Insurance Sector”

On 15 March 2008, the Association held a meeting on “Taxation in the Insurance Sector”. The meeting was attended by Mehmet Akif Ulusoy, Head of the Revenue Administration and senior officers of the institution.

During the meeting, the report on “Taxation in the Insurance Sector and Related Problems” prepared by the Association was discussed.

In the first part of the meeting, the participants discussed about Insurance Code and deduction of insurance technical provisions from the corporate tax.

In the second part of the meeting, the taxation in the retirement system and problems faced in banking and insurance transaction tax on the part of insurance companies and agencies were mentioned.
