The Association published the “Insurance Intermediaries in European Union” book |

The Association published the “Insurance Intermediaries in European Union” book which is the 8th book of the “Insurance Research and Analysis Series”.
The study prepared by Assoc. Prof. Suna OKSAY, Deputy Secretary General of the Association, and Berna OZSAR, EU and International Relations Specialist, a general frame is drawn regarding the insurance intermediaries and their role in the insurance sector, followed by the main points of the European Union and Council Directive number 2002/92/EC, which is known as the “Insurance Intermediaries Directive” regulating the insurance intermediation activities. In the final section of the study, information is given concerning the rules setting up the insurance intermediation activities in the 25 member states of the EU, and whether these countries transferred the Directive No. 2002/92/EC to their domestic law and the current regulations are analysed. |

The Association published the “Supervision in European Union and Turkish Insurance Sector” book which is the 9th book of the “Insurance Research and Analysis Series”.
The study prepared by Assoc. Prof. Suna OKSAY, Deputy Secretary General of the Association, and Onur ACAR, Fiscal and Financial Regulations Specialist, the global standards composed by International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), of which the Association is as well an observer, regarding the public supervision in the insurance supervision and the bodies and standarts created concerning the public supervision, independent supervision and domestic supervision in the EU and Turkish insurance sector, are explained. |

The Association participated to the CEA ECOFIN meeting |

The Association participated to the Economy and Finance Committee (ECOFIN) meeting of Comite Europeen des Assurances (CEA), on 22nd of January 2007, in Brussels. At the meeting, which was participated by the representatives of the member states of CEA, Secretariat of CEA ECOFIN, and presidents of the sub-commitees of Solvency II and Accounting, the topics on the agenda regarding the Solvency II Project and IFRS.
Within this framework the results of the Solvency II Impact Assessment survey, which was participated by 6 insurance companies from Turkey, were discussed. In addition, it was decided to establish 3 sub-commitees in order to work over the technical subjects about IFRS 4 phase 2, and to present views in the name of CEA, also the countries could send their representatives to these committees. |

Ethical Principles of Insurance are constituted |

“Ethical Principles of Insurance”, prepared by our Association, in order to define the ethical principles which will be adopted by the insurance and reinsurance companies in their relations with their clients, employees, intermediaries, public institutions and within themselves, and to increase the current public trust to the sector in line with these principles, are accepted by the decision taken by our Executive Board, at the meeting on 18th of January, 2007.
